Wizeman Zitha Artist Profile

Professional Model, Actor, Hairdresser,
 Vlogger and brand Influencer

Wizeman Zitha Artist Profile

Wizeman is a 23 years old actor, model, hairdresser, vlogger, and brand influencer signed to Boss models in Johannesburg and D&A in Cape Town.

He is a drama graduate from the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT). His modelling career took off in 2016 when he was doing his second year and he has not looked back since.

Wizeman was born in a village called Loloka next to Giyani in Limpopo. He relocated to another village in Thohoyandou right after primary school and completed matric at Khatisa High School. It was his Grade 10 Life Orientation teacher that picked up his modelling talent so he started entering a lot of pageants and won some of them, even coming in second place in Mr Malamulele. It was in Grade 12 when he realized he wanted to be in the entertainment and media industry so he applied to TUT and UCT only but due to financial constraints he could not afford to go to UCT for the audition.

Wizeman was in his second year at TUT in 2016 he took pictures with his phone and sent them to different agencies, he got rejected. It was then he realized that it’s not that he does not have what it takes but he was taking the wrong pictures, and that is a mistake a lot of people make. He was spotted on Instagram by his first agent and his first modelling gig was with David Tlale.
Wizeman has worked with remarkable photographers and designers including the likes of David Tlale, Roseyandvittori and Maxivive just to name a few. He has shot campaigns for Total sports, Spitz, and different SA catalogs.

He has also featured in an international magazine called Risk magazine. He was part of the models for ‘The Intern’ David Tlale that was played on SABC 3. He has walked in South African Fashion (SAFW), Mercedes Benz Fashion Week now called African Fashion Week (AFI). He has shot an international commercial for Mr Muscle that will run in SA, Egypt, Nigeria, and Asia next year.

Wizeman says that by him studying drama has acted as a catalyst because modelling is a form of acting. In the next five years he sees himself doing even bigger things, and he sees himself getting bigger and better. He would like to do film and radio, grooming newcomers into the modelling industry, opening a hairdresser spa.
His advice to other aspiring models is that they need to have a thick skin it’s a jungle there and you may face a lot of rejection. One needs to be able to stomach and just continue being persistent.
He says it’s very important to get educated, minimum at least get matric and also one needs to have people skills and be friendly. . Modelling is about how you look and you need to know how to speak, you need to have a personality, be friendly.

However, the elders of the village come together and bring tough people to train and groom this boy to become a man.  This exciting and breath taking show explores the use of Physical Theatre, Khatak and Contemporary Dance to tell the story.

EDDIE THABA Artist Profiling

Scriptwriter and Storyliner for eTV ,
part-time Lecturer, teaching Stagecraft and Scriptwriting at TUT.

Eddie Thaba Artist Profiling

A Scriptwriter and Storyliner for eTV’s daily drama, Rhythm City and is currently doing his Masters in Drama at the Tshwane University of Technology’s Drama Department, where he also works as a part-time Lecturer, teaching Stagecraft and Scriptwriting.

Eddie grew up in the mining town of Burgersfort, Limpopo where he started his basic education, right up to Grade 12. His love and talent for writing was picked up by his grade 4 teacher at Shopiane Primary School when he wrote and presented a farewell speech for a principal who was going on pension. From then on, Eddie picked up the pen and never looked back. At Kgahlanong Secondary School, Eddie took on debate and poetry, mentored by his English teacher, Kaiser Matlala. In his last year at the school, Eddie won a merit award for outstanding performance in Scrabble, the word-building board game. All these activities helped Eddie achieve a distinction in English on his Matric final exam in 2004.

But, as is the case with many young South Africans, Eddie was forced to study a course that would guarantee him a job at the mines, so he went on to study Electrical Engineering – Heavy Current at Capricorn FET in Seshego in 2005 and then moved to Sekhulhune FET – CS Barlow in Motetema in the last trimester to finish off his practical. Due to financial struggles, Eddie couldn’t take his studies further and found a job at the mines where he worked at the electrical division for a year. It was during this year that Eddie realised that he doesn’t belong in the mines and he made the important decision to follow his passion, which led him to TUT in 2007 where he enrolled for a National Certificate in Versatile Broadcasting.

In the following year, Eddie went on to enrol for Drama at the TUT Arts Campus, and as they say, the rest is history.

A trained actor, Eddie acted in a number of student plays and films before moving onto the professional stage, and later into scriptwriting and directing. His acting roles include notably, Zachariah Mphahlele in Uncle Vanya, an adaptation by Paul Grootboom, Moses in No Good Friday, directed by Sithembiso Blose, Judge in Forgiveness, an adaptation of Euripides’ Hecuba by Keamogetswe Moeketsane, and Pastor Veil in 11th Avenue, written and directed by Boitumelo Zitha.

Eddie completed his B-Tech in Drama in 2011, majoring in Scriptwriting and Directing. It is at TUT Drama Department where he cut his teeth as a Director, directing Athol Fugard’s Nongogo in 2009 and Paul Slabolepszy’s Mooi Street Moves in 2010. In 2012, he wrote and directed Baggage, a play devised in collaboration with the cast, which won the award for ‘Most Promising Script’ at the Mzansi Fela festival at the South African State Theatre.

Eddie began writing for TV in 2014 on eTV’s eKasi – Our Stories. In 2016, after completing the NFVF’s Spark Script Editor’s course, he joined SABC3’s daily drama, Isidingo as a Scriptwriter until March 2018 when he moved to Rhythm City. In 2017, Eddie wrote Indumbe, a feature film occasionally played on Mzansi Magic.

Despite his accomplishments, Eddie believes he still has a lot to learn and much more to give and achieve. There’s a lot to look out for from this passionate and talented storyteller, so make sure you catch his play, DEFIANCE at the South African State Theatre in March 2019.
